Monorom Professional Group established in late of 2007 by three dynamic young entrepreneurs. They have very different experiences and background. These young men came to know each other at CJCC's entrepreneurship course in June 2007. While meeting the deadline for their final exam of creating new business plan, they agreed to do business together by creating Massage Business aiming to be very unique and professional massage for holistic audience whether young or old, man or woman alike.
Finally, they got an outstanding result of the exam and one of them received an outstanding reward. He became the quest speaker for the next Entrepreneurship Courses. Because of CJCC, Monorom Professional Group has been found as well as we have more good friends in young entrepreneur's fellowship.
Since 2001, Massage Services had been popular in Cambodia among men but unfortunately massage became very bad conotation in our society. Many news and stories had been heard about how masseurs got abuse from those who took massage as their sexual pleasure. Most parents did not want their children getting job at massage center as of we had experienced in having difficulty to get staff for our massage parlor from the beginning. Noticeably, all of us come from good family background and yet we started a strange business or so call "unclean business". Some of our parents complained about how my sons got into this business idea. They were afraid that their children may done something wrong or may damage family values which most parents worried about. So they scolded us repeatedly. It was hard for us to respond but we simply asked them to put their faith in us and we would make all the best to transform this concept as which we believe that Massage is good for all human kind on earth in all time.
With this in mind, we had to come with the solution so that we could started this massage services provider on time by considering two aspects: the word "Monorom" and "Professional". The first is the Khmer word which has meaning positively on "delightful, joyful, pleasant, cheerful and soft in every manner". The later has its all positive meaning and referred to "skill and profession" in our livelihood. Therefore, these two words have been signaled, signified and clarified strongly about our massage services as to be cleaned and genuine. On top of these, we chose the right logo which is relatively to flower that also help us to protect our motive and vision.
In November 2007, Monorom Professional Massage had been launched successfully. Of course, few people would know our Monorom massage services but not many to come as we got into the business very behind other massage parlor giants like Kru Kang, Lucky Massage, Meatapheap, Atalantic, Four Seasons, Orosey Club, etc". To overcome this barrier, we were the first who brought Fish Massage, known as Dr. Fish into Cambodia as well as the first in the Asia region. Media and news had been broadcasted and published for such interesting service. Many came to try our Fish Massage. But this was just to open the way for us entered the market.
By seeing this kind of business grown rapidly, many local and foreign investors had funded to start this massage business in conjunction with "Club/MTV". Sooner or later, our society had been gone worst especially young people fell into a heart for fast/easy money and erotic pleasure . For us, we felt insecure to run a sustainable business as many of our competitors offered a cheap massage and better added value services like big steam/sauna or Jacuzzi (hot and cold water) as of their margins were with something else. So I felt a need to start other business which may help our massage service in due time. So in May of 2008, we started to look for a place to rent. By that time, we did know what kind of business should take. But in my heart I wanted to do a professional car care service. On one evening, I was in a class for business training, teaching a group of particular people who wanted to start a micro business, I was called from Khoing asking me, come and see one location put for rent which is now our current Car Care Business Center (behind Russian Friendship Hospital). So I asked him to make arrangement for us to meet the landlord and the appointment was at 10:30pm the same day. After negotiation, we made a deposit to the landlord for which we would make the most modern car washing in Cambodia and may cost more that $100,000 USD. By that time, the landlord couldn't believe. By June, we started the construction project and completed in November. On November 10, 2008 we launched Monorom Professional Car Care with a mini Free Wifi Café.
It seemed that we started any business in the right time and the right kind of business. As we all know that by end of 2008, the world fell into economic constrain resources. Soon, the word "world financial crisis" had been heard everywhere. Although we cannot make any profit during time like these but we have learnt a lot on how to make a sustainable business. Moreover, we also expand our business adventure in other field, TopTul, the mark of professional tools. During time like these, we never stop to explore more professional services and products to serve our people and the nation. Under the leadership team, Monorom Professional Group has become the most recognized domestic company of the fast growing, popular, and successful business adventure in Cambodia. We truly value in our staff, our customers and the nation.
